Do you sometimes feel drained at the end of the day, and could you do with a pick-me-up? Or do you perhaps want a fresh and active start to the day? To be able to work well, you also need to feel good. During Vitality Week, we are offering a range of workshops aimed at helping you improve your physical and mental resilience. All activities are open to all staff. The University believes it is important that you take the time to work on your own vitality and resilience. Check out the programme and choose an activity you need and enjoy doing!

My Daily Lifestyle and the University Sports Centre (USC) are running the following workshops during National Vitality Week (Nationale Vitaliteitsweek):

Yin Yang Yoga (NL and ENG) Are you prone to stress and fatigue? Yin Yang Yoga is a combination of gentle and vigorous yoga and helps you achieve a better balance and mind-body connection. |

Boxing (NL and ENG) Boxing is a tactical combat sport in which insight, fitness, footwork and hand-eye coordination are key. This training session is open to everyone, from beginners to experienced boxers. |

Yin Yoga (NL and ENG) Are you prone to stress and fatigue? Yin Yoga is a gentle form of yoga that promotes balance and a better mind-body connection. |

Inspiration session: Am I in balance? (NL) Do you know how you are doing, physically and mentally? In this session, you will take a closer look at your diet, exercise, relaxation and sleep. It also includes a short fitness test and relaxation exercises. |

Walking with an XCORE trainer (NL and ENG) The XCORE (Extreme Core) workout is an ultimate core (the back, abdominal and hip muscles) workout using the XCO shaker: a tube that contains a moving mass of granules to give your muscles an extra workout. |

Mindfulness (NL and ENG) Looking to reduce stress and become more focused? Mindfulness teaches you to become aware of your experiences. Through exercises, you learn to notice what is happening in your body and in your surroundings. |

Workshop: Exercise is good for body and mind (NL) Do you tend to feel fit, or lethargic? Are you conscious of your exercise habits and how you can improve them? This workshop will help you to gain an insight into your behaviour and to take action with a range of exercises and tips! |

Pilates (NL and ENG) Pilates is all about low-impact exercises at a slow pace. You mainly use your core (abdominal) muscles. Not only is it great for building strength, but it also helps improve posture and stamina. |

Power Yoga (NL and ENG) Power Yoga is an active form of yoga with fast, dynamic poses designed to build endurance, strength and flexibility. There is less emphasis on meditation and breathing. |

Jumping Fitness (NL and ENG) Does trampolining put a smile on your face? Then this is the perfect activity for you! A fantastic workout to music that doesn’t put any strain on your joints. And your muscles get a great workout trying to keep you on your feet! |

All activities are free. So sign up and encourage your colleagues to join in so we can work on our resilience together! Registration is open until 10 a.m. on Friday 22 September.
