A Tale in Two Tongues
This project is aimed at promoting multilingualism by sharing scientific knowledge and organising multilingual storytelling events.
Leiden is a linguistically and culturally diverse city. To showcase this linguistic diversity and multilingualism, several events and storytelling afternoons will be organised. The project will kick off on February 21st with an online conference 'Culture-Language Maintenance in a City of Many Tongues'.
Three storytelling afternoons are organised in collaboration with BplusC. At each of these meetings, a story is read and discussed:
- Moroccan Arabic / Tamazight (March)
- Spanish / Portuguese / Papiamento (June)
- Filipino / English (September)
A closing event will take place during the Kinderboekenweek in October.
