Language and the human past

The research group 'Language and the human past' (Multi-disciplinary approaches to reconstructing areal histories) was established to advance our understanding of the present distribution of linguistic and cultural diversity.

Bringing together specialists from various disciplines and focused on different geographic areas, this group's aim is to discuss and reconstruct the social dynamics of past societies and thereby illuminate their histories and spatio-temporal trajectories.
