As an employee of Leiden University, you are eligible to take out various insurance (schemes) at an attractive discount.

Unfit for work

If you are unfit for work, there are certain procedures and options for guidance; for example in the case of long-term illness. Also read more about work disability insurance and the WGA compensations benefit.

ABP pension accrual

If you receive a salary from Leiden University, you automatically accrue pension with the Algemeen Burgerlijk Pensioenfonds (ABP). You can supplement your pension with ABP for more financial freedom in your old age. Or you can, under specific conditions, save money via your ABP pension fund to supplement your retirement pension.

Unemployment

If your contract with Leiden University ends, you may be entitled to (supplementary) unemployment benefits or you may be eligible for a transition payment. You can also get help with transitioning to a new job.
