Call for applications: Aspasia Travel Grant
Travel grant call for applications open to people who were identified as female at birth or who identify as female at the time of application for externally-funded Ph.D. students (not funded by any outside source such as ERC, NWO, etc.) and/or staff members (postdoc, docent, UD, permanent/non-permanent staff) in the faculties of Humanities (Geesteswetenschappen) or Social and Behavioral Sciences (Sociale Wetenschappen) for research travel grants offered through Associate Professor Tsolin Nalbantian’s Aspasia subsidy.
About the grant
The Aspasia grant will fund the research travel (up to EUR 10,000 per awardee) to assist in the writing of a peer-reviewed journal article or academic monograph to be used in 2024-2025. Recipients will provide a draft of the article or chapter within 6 months of the completion of the research travel.
People who were identified as female at birth or identify as female at the time of application from diverse backgrounds who have experienced a break in their career due to additional responsibilities (e.g. due to leave and/or care tasks) and/or those on a teaching contract without allocated research time, and/or on temporary contracts are strongly encouraged to apply.
Conditions
- You were identified as female at birth or identify as female at the time of application
- You are either an externally-funded PhD student, lecturer (postdoc or docent), or assistant professor (UD) at Leiden University
Submission Requirements
- Research grant proposal including (no longer than 1000 words):
- Description of research project, justification for travel, intent of resulting publication and how that will support your career
- Why this grant opportunity cannot be achieved through other routes
- What other (personal) factors play a role in applying for this grant (if applicable)
- Detailed budget and time frame (including submission of journal article or book chapter)
- Academic CV (no longer than 2 pages)
