A successful Law, AI & Digitalisation meetup

On 19 March, Leiden Law School hosted the first Law, AI & Digitalisation Meetup, a collaborative initiative organised by the departments of Public Law, Civil Law, eLaw, and Business Studies. The event featured engaging pitch sessions, informative poster presentations and networking opportunities and brought together researchers from various Leiden Law School departments to discuss their work within the field of Law and AI/digitalisation.

The programme of the meetup consisted of three pitch sessions and a poster session focusing on the topics of Safety & Accountability, Digitalisation & Consumer Law, Platforms, Legal Tech and Digitalisation & Government. These sessions provided valuable insights into current research at our faculty and fostered an environment for knowledge exchange. Our department's Technology & Innovation research group was well represented; Masha Medvedeva (Business Studies/eLaw), one of the event organisers, delivered a pitch on her research on Legal Judgment Prediction. Kimia Heidary (Business Studies/eLaw) and Daria Morozova (Business Studies) showcased their work through poster presentations entitled 'Online Price Discrimination' and 'AI at Work in Organisations' respectively.

The meetup was a resounding success, drawing attendees from multiple departments who appreciated the chance to learn from each other and explore potential collaborations.
