From AI to Senior Teaching Qualification: Come to the Education Market!
This year’s Education Market will be happening very soon. On 19 June, staff members will be on hand at a variety of stands in the Huizinga Building, ready to inspire you with their experiences. Two of the lecturers describe what they will be doing.
Julian van der Kraats says more about creating your own AI bots: ‘A lot of students are already using ChatGPT or other, similar bots. In some cases, this can mean that the bots actually do all of their homework. If we provide a bot ourselves, we can also write the “system prompt”: the invisible instruction that guides the bot. This allows you to ensure that the bot doesn’t do all the homework but, for example, uses a question-answer format to trigger students to find the right answer themselves. Another point is that a well-programmed bot will be available to answer students’ questions 24/7, which can really reduce your workload. All you need to do, as a lecturer, is upload the specific information about the course, and then the ISSC can help with formulating the right system prompt. What do students need to learn and how can the bot help them with that?’
Georgina Balau vertelt over de senior onderwijskwalificatie (SKO): ‘Ik ga mijn ervaringen met het SKO-programma delen, zoals de inzichten die ik heb opgedaan bij de SKO-inspiratiesessies. Het SKO-traject heeft mij feedback, nieuwe perspectieven, inspirerende ideeën opgeleverd, net als de kans om te leren van collega’s van verschillende faculteiten. Ik kijk ernaar uit om deze nieuwe inzichten te delen met de bezoekers van de Onderwijsmarkt. Goed onderwijs bestaat uit een mix van elementen die de leerervaring dienen. Ik wil tijdens de Onderwijsmarkt delen dat dit proces lonender wordt als je een gearticuleerde visie op lesgeven en leren ontwikkelt. Het SKO-traject helpt daar zeker bij.’
