Anke Klein appointed as faculty lead of the Leiden Healthy Society Center
Dr. Anke Klein, head of the Knowledge Center for Anxiety and Stress in Youth (KAS) and Associate Professor at the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences, has been appointed as faculty lead of the Leiden Healthy Society Center (LHSC) on behalf of Leiden University.
Health and well-being in Leiden
The LHSC is a collaboration between Leiden University, Leiden University of Applied Sciences, MboRijnland, and the Municipality of Leiden. The center is committed to improving health and well-being in the city by consolidating and expanding existing partnerships and initiatives, stimulating new projects, and actively involving residents in developing sustainable solutions. Leiden serves as a living lab, where science, policy, and practice come together to increase societal impact. The LHSC was established with the inspiring contribution of Prof. Dr. Andrea Evers, a key founder of this initiative.
Connecting research, care, education, and policy
The LHSC’s focus and approach align closely with Anke’s interdisciplinary background in psychology and pedagogy and her work as Associate Professor in the Department of Developmental and Educational Psychology. She has extensive expertise in anxiety, stress, and internalizing problems, with particular attention to the interaction between parents and children. In addition, as head of the Knowledge Center for Anxiety and Stress in Youth (KAS), she plays an important role in connecting research, care, education, and policy—perfectly in line with the LHSC’s principles.
Anke strongly values interdisciplinary collaboration and societal impact. With her expertise and ability to connect, she will be a great asset to the LHSC and to our shared commitment to a healthy society.
