In memoriam: Frans Pigeaud
With great sadness we have learned that Frans Pigeaud passed away suddenly last Friday, at the age of 70.
Frans had been a lecturer at our department since early 2020. Last year he was still active at the faculty, lecturing on strategy with his customary dedication and enthusiasm. He greatly enjoyed his time in Leiden and was meticulous in the preparation of his lectures. Frans always supported innovation in teaching and was deeply committed to his students.
We came to know Frans as a valued colleague and a passionate teacher. Only four weeks ago, he joined us at our annual department dinner, an evening he looked back on with much enjoyment.
We will miss Frans deeply and extend our heartfelt condolences to his family as they come to terms with this tremendous loss.
