Six Leiden professors elected as members of the KHMW

The Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities (KHMW) has elected six professors from Leiden as members. Sarah de Rijcke, Sense Jan van der Molen, Jet Bussemaker, Bastiaan Rijpkema, Antje Wessels and Gilles van Wezel joined the KHMW on 9 February.

Since its establishment in 1752, the KHMW has been building bridges between science and society at large. It does so by awarding prizes, holding lectures, debates and symposia and producing publications. The KHMW comprises a group of scholars and a group of representatives from society with an interest in science.

The professors from Leiden University who have joined the KHMW are: Sarah de Rijcke (Rector Magnificus and Professor of Science, Technology  & Innovation Studies), Jet Bussemaker (Policy, Science and Societal Impact), Bastiaan Rijpkema (Professor of Jurisprudence), Antje Wessels (Professor of Latin Language and Literature), Sense Jan van der Molen (Professor of Condensed Matter) and Gilles van Wezel (Professor of Molecular Biotechnology).
