Suzanne van der Pluijm reappointed as Director of Operational Management of the Faculty of Science

The Executive Board of Leiden University has reappointed Suzanne van der Pluijm as Director of Operational Management of the Faculty of Science. Her new term of office started on 1 June 2026.

Broad support across the Faculty

Van der Pluijm’s reappointment has the full support of her fellow members of the Faculty Board, the Directors of Operations of the Faculty’s institutes, and the Faculty Council. Over the past few years, she has played a key role in strengthening the Faculty’s organisation and ensuring it is future-ready. Throughout this period, she has consistently fostered collaboration across the Faculty while creating the conditions needed for teaching and research to flourish.

Continuing to build the Faculty together

Faculty Board members Jasper Knoester and Bart de Smit are pleased with her reappointment: ‘Suzanne is a dedicated and experienced leader who knows both the Faculty and the University exceptionally well. Through her collaborative approach and strong commitment, she makes an important contribution to our Faculty. We look forward to continuing our valued collaboration in the years ahead.’
