Your student or registration card is your proof of registration as a student of Leiden University.

As well as student associations, you can also join one of the independent non-profit student organisations that are active in Leiden and The Hague. Become a member and develop your skills while making new friends and contributing to social causes.

Staying in contact with other students might not always be easy but it is very important. Find out about the different ways in which you can meet other students.

As a student of Leiden University you are provided with a student account (ULCN account) that allows you to access a variety of systems such as uMail, uSis, Brightspace and library catalogues, as well as the physical workstations within the university.

Leiden University supports students with a refugee background by providing guidance and encouraging contact with fellow students and staff. Find out about the services available and how you can play a role.

As a student, you may be eligible for Dutch student finance if you are a Dutch national or meet other specific criteria. You might also be eligible for rent or healthcare benefits. Planning on studying abroad? In some cases you can also request financial support.

Your LU-card is your university ID card and your student card is your proof of student registration. Find out about the cards you need as a student of Leiden University.

Your student registration will expire automatically at the end of the academic year. However, if you end your study programme earlier, you must cancel your student registration.
