Teacher development model

The approach to teacher development at Leiden University is centred on the teacher development model. This is a tool for teachers and their managers, which can serve as the basis for discussing interests and ambitions. It can also be used for assessing development needs at the team level. For more information about this model and the university's approach to teacher development, you can visit Our vision on teacher development.

Teacher development model
This model is based on the Career Framework for University Teaching of Graham (2018) and the UNITE model of van Dijk et al. (2020); it describes the task domains associated with academic teaching. The Faculty of Social & Behavioural Sciences, Faculty of Humanities and Leiden Learning & Innovation Centre (LLInC) are currently further elaborating the model as a self-reflection instrument.
