Pilot exam participation without valid registration
We will gradually fill this page with more information. In the 2025-2026 academic year, a pilot will be running in which non-registered students will be allowed to participate 45 minutes after the start time of the exam, provided there are exam seats available.
In the USC, the Pieterskerk and Hooglandse kerk, a location manager from Jobmotion will be scheduled as often as possible to accommodate the non-registered students and to arrange the administration as much as possible. At other exam locations, or if no location manager is available, you as an examiner are responsible for the implementation of this protocol.
The usual registration protocol and exam protocols are still the basis and therefore nothing changes for students with a valid registration who arrive 45 minutes (or later) after the start of the exam; they are not allowed to participate.
Non-enrolled students are not entitled to facilities such as extra time or a quiet exam room (these facilities are listed on the attendance list for registered students and cannot be checked for non-registered students). Therefore, the same end time applies to non-enrolled students as to other students without a time extension.
Please consult the detailed protocol for examiners for a timeline and the responsibilities of an examiner. We have it available in Dutch and English.
For exams at other locations than the USC and Hooglandse kerk or Pieterskerk, please also find the necessary forms:
SEEDS is the messenger of the university-wide protocol and we try to bridge the university protocol to the practicalities in our examination locations.
Please send us your feedback on the protocol via seeds@science.leidenuniv.nl. We will try our best to make adjustments or add clarifications in cooperation with the other faculties.
