FSW Grassroots & Grass shoots grants
Do you see opportunities to enrich and improve your education with the use of online or digital tools? Or do you have an idea for an educational innovation, perhaps inspired by your experiences during the COVID-19 crisis? The FSW Grassroots and Grass shoots grants can help you realize your idea.
Grassroots and Grass Shoots 2023-2024 have been awarded!
Seven projects will receive a Grassroots or Grass shoots grant for next academic year. The projects range from practicing presentation skills in Virtual Reality to creating a faculty-wide Brightspace environment where faculty can experience what Brightspace really looks like for students. We wish all faculty members the best of luck!
Read about the projects* The pre-application need not be detailed, it's the starting point for the rest of the application process.
Innovating your education with a Grassroots- or shoots grant can be done in many ways. For example:
-
Embedding blended learning into your course, for example by using a digital application to practice skills or further process lecture material.
-
Selecting and/or developing and offering open learning materials.
-
Experimenting in teaching or testing with digital tools and/or new working forms for improving (peer) feedback to students, or encouraging self-regulated learning.
Previous participants worked with knowledge clips and peer feedback, created an online eLearning module and used VR to give students conversational experience.
