PhD candidates: apply for Una Europa's interdisciplinary summer schools

9 February 2026

Strengthen your research skills and expand your professional network. Apply now for one of four summer schools, organised by the Una Europa alliance.

Which summer schools can I apply for?

Una Europa summer schools are open to PhD candidates from Leiden University and LUMC.

Three will take place at University College Dublin from 15 to 19 June:

  • Sustainability for All: Identify key challenges and solutions to delivering the United Nations SDGs; meet stakeholders working on sustainability policy; strengthen your communication skills.

  • One Health for All: Engage directly with leading experts, gain practical insights into emerging One Health issues, and work closely with peers in an interactive, supportive environment.

  • Artificial Intelligence and Creativity: Expand your AI knowledge beyond your initial academic research, discover AI’s applications in creative domains and investigate issues that arise at the intersection of AI and creativity.

In addition, the summer school Exploring Soft Materials: From Molecules to Biomaterials will run from 29 June to 3 July at the University of Bologna, Italy. Here you will explore biomaterials and functional materials for biological and medical applications and strengthen your ability to work across disciplines in an international research context.
