Floor maintenance in the Gorlaeus Building (17–28 August)

30 July 2026

From Monday 17 August to Friday 28 August, maintenance work will be carried out on the ground-floor in the Gorlaeus Building, from the D wing up to the automatic doors towards the measurement hall and the Expedition.

The floor will be sanded and re-coated. Limited dust may be released during the sanding process. To minimise dust, the machine is equipped with a dust collection bag.

What does this mean for you?

During the works, the usual route on the ground floor will be closed. Please take the following into account:

  • D and E wings: accessible via the first floor. From the atrium (near reception), take the stairs or lift to the first floor and follow the corridor at the back to reach the wings.
  • Toilets in the D and E wings: only accessible from the wing side.
  • Measurement hall, the Expedition and offices near the logistics area: accessible via the first floor and then by lift.
