As an employee of Leiden University, you are eligible to take out various insurance (schemes) at an attractive discount:
- Health insurance (the collective health insurance scheme offered by Leiden University and Zorg en Zekerheid).
- Work-related travel insurance. Employees going on business trips can make use of the University’s collective travel insurance scheme.
- Surviving dependents insurance (via Loyalis).
- (Supplementary) work disability insurance (the collective health insurance scheme offered by Leiden University and Loyalis).
ABP pension accrual
If you receive a salary from Leiden University, you automatically accrue pension with the Algemeen Burgerlijk Pensioenfonds (ABP). You can take out supplementary insurance at ABP for more financial freedom in your old age. Or you can, under specific conditions, save money via your ABP pension fund to supplement your retirement pension.
