Responsible collaboration

When you work with partners from home or abroad, these collaborations must be safe and responsible.

Every day, researchers, teaching staff and students work with partners at home and overseas. This is part of our core value of academic freedom: the freedom to ask questions, explore new ideas and share knowledge. This freedom is fundamental to academia and is essential for good teaching, critical thinking, developing new knowledge and advancing society.

But we must exercise this freedom responsibly. Collaboration also means taking responsibility for entering into prudent, safe and ethical partnerships. We all have a role to play in safeguarding knowledge security and considering issues such as the fossil fuel industry and human rights in every form of collaboration.

The university seeks to work with partners who share our values and contribute to a fair and sustainable future.
