Staff association: new activities and new faces
Leiden University has an active staff association that organises a range of activities throughout the year. This autumn, members can join in many budget-friendly new activities. And two new board members would like to introduce themselves.
Become a member and join in activities
Join the staff association for € 2,50 per month and take part in all sorts of fun activities. You’ll be surprised by how much fun it is to get to know and interact with your colleagues outside of work. Here are just some of the activities planned for this autumn: a padel clinic, a painting workshop, a gourmet cycling tour and a Christmas trip. See the calendar and sign up soon.
New board members
Two new members joined the board in April: Jill de Mol and Ceryl de Heer. Together with Tom Stapper and Jeanine Rosheuvel, they help keep the university staff association running.
Jill de Mol is the treasurer. From the budget to expenses, she does the books for the association. Jill is a researcher at the Faculty of Science. ‘I joined the staff association about two years ago and have already taken part in loads of fun activities and trips. It’s great to be able to help organise them. I’m really sporty, so you’ll definitely see me at the tennis and padel clinics.’
Board member Ceryl de Heer helps organise and communicate about events. She is an internal communications adviser for HR at Administration and Central Services. ‘I came to work at Leiden University in June 2023 and immediately joined the association, but was a sleeping member because I hadn’t taken part in any activities until I saw the call for new board members. I’m curious about what colleagues from other corners of the organisation are up to and what motivates them. I’m going to sign up soon for the gourmet cycling tour of Leiden!’
