New E-module on AI Literacy for Teachers: The LLM Didactic Guide

16 March 2026

Looking to broaden your knowledge and practical skills in relation to the responsible and effective use of Large Language Models (LLMs)? If so, LLInC has the online course for you!

The LLM Didactic Guide e-module is available for all staff at Leiden University but takes on a particular relevance for those involved in teaching. Developed by educational professionals at LLInC to support the responsible, effective, and intentional use of AI in teaching and learning, it provides educators a clear overview of opportunities, risks, and practical applications as well as concrete guidance regarding implementation.

The content has been compiled and checked with the utmost care. When compiling the content, LLInC took into account the university's vision as far as it had been developed at the time. Moreover, SAZ and LLInC are currently collaborating to further develop and refine the university's AI policy. The material in this module aligns with the current policy.

While the module does not recommend the use of AI or specific tools, it provides lecturers with the basic knowledge required to decide when and how to use AI.

Where to find the course?
