Registration now open for the Basic University Didactics (BUD) trajectory
Registration for the 'Basic University Didactics (BUD)'* is now possible. You can enrol via SuccessFactors (see this PDF for details). More information about this trajectory can be found below and registration is open until Sunday, 31 May.
What is it?
The BKO for Support Staff is a series of 5 training courses (8 afternoons) spread over the academic year in which we will cover basic didactic principles relevant to lecturers and advice to lecturers. At the end of this trajectory, participants will be able to give advice from a didactic point of view, which is connected to the teacher's context, knowledge, and skills.
The themes covered are:
-
Futures Thinking - visualising the future and defining your role as a supporter/advisor in it
-
Educational Design - identify the basics of (blended education) and common mistakes in education design
-
Teaching in Practice - the theory of (active) learning and applying it to your own workshops, lunchbites and/or consultancy sessions
-
Testing, Assessment and Feedback - the basics of designing, conducting and assessing tests and setting up good (peer) feedback processes
-
Inclusive Education - the basics of designing your education inclusively and how to take this into account in the (digital) learning environment
Who is it for?
Staff with an advisory role to teachers who do not have a teaching role themselves (workshops & lunchbites excluded). Examples include staff from Teacher Support Desks such as SOLO, Psyblend, Ecole, SEEDs, FLO, etc.
Please note: staff who do or have limited teaching duties can participate in a modified variant of this trajectory. Through an intake meeting, an adapted or shortened trajectory will be coordinated with the participant.
What does it cost?
The entire trajectory costs €412,50 for internal participants and €1100,00 for external participants. Internal participants will be prioritised.
How much time does it take?
The course consists of 8 sessions of 3-4 hours spread over the academic year (see schedule). Prior to each half-day session, participants are expected to spend about 1-2 hours on preparatory assignments.
