Raise awareness about climate change on Show Your Stripes Day (20 June)

18 June 2026

Saturday June 20 marks Show Your Stripes Day. Scientists, knowledge institutions and organisations will raise awareness about human-driven climate change, its far-reaching impacts, and the actions we can take to build a sustainable future.

On this day, Leiden University will raise the flag with climate stripes. The climate stripes, also known as warming stripes, were created by Professor Ed Hawkins of the University of Reading. These bold, simple visuals powerfully depict the rise in global temperatures over the past 150+ years and serve as a striking reminder of the urgent need for climate action.
