- Teacher
- Bettina Neuhaus
Moving earth – Moving body
A somatic approach to our unique relationship with gravity, the ground, and space Especially in times when we are exposed to a flood of external stimuli and information, our connection to the earth helps us maintain inner balance, focus, and resilience.
For whom
For movement lovers of all levels who want to expand their movement vocabulary and develop a more grounded way of moving.
Content
Discover your connection to the earth as a source of energy, support, and inspiration in this unique workshop that combines somatic exercises, experiential anatomy, and the joy of dance. We focus on our bodies and the interplay of bones, muscles, and skin—a living structure that allows us to move and experience. As we move, we play with our relationship to gravity, creating a dance-like dialogue with the ground, the outermost layer of the earth. Simultaneously, our awareness of the spatial dimension of our movements and how we relate to other dancers in space grows. The active use of the ground and its support increases confidence, efficiency, and the ability to move and dance with a broader spectrum of dynamics and qualities.
What can you expect?
- Through (anatomical) imagery, touch, and partner work, you refine your embodied understanding (your physical experience) of your body, its biomechanical connections, and its constant interaction with gravity.
- There is space for individual, partner, and group explorations to experience the dynamic and powerful support of the ground, available at any time and during every activity.
- Music is sometimes used to promote greater flow, ease, and freedom of movement in your dance.
- The day concludes with time for integration, allowing you to anchor the experiences gained and return home with renewed energy.
