This international meeting brings together the leadership of all major Ukrainian astronomy institutions and representatives of the Dutch and European astronomy community. The goal is to develop a strategic roadmap for rebuilding Ukrainian astronomy, strengthening international collaboration, and exploring astronomy’s potential to contribute to post-war recovery through innovation, education, and science diplomacy.
The event is hosted by the International Astronomical Union’s European Regional Office of Astronomy for Development (a partnership between the European Astronomical Society, the Netherlands Research School for Astronomy, and Leiden Observatory) and is partially funded by the Erasmus+ Programme (ICM).
Speakers and participating institutions include
- Sara Lucatello, President, European Astronomical Society
- Willy Benz, President, International Astronomical Union
- Directors and researchers from Ukrainian institutions including the Main Astronomical Observatory of the National Academy of Sciences, and universities from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, and Odesa
- Representatives from SRON, ASTRON, JIVE ERIC, LOFAR ERIC, LOFAR, NOVA, and the Dutch Research Council (NWO)

Academics, students, science policy professionals, research managers, and anyone interested in astronomy, international cooperation, science diplomacy, and post-war recovery.
