Campus Den Haag hosts 'On Campus' Experience Days
Last Saturday, Wijnhaven Campus and the Anna van Buerenplein were the setting for the first 'on campus' Experience Days in The Hague since the restrictive measures in higher education were introduced in March 2020. Spread over the day, some 200 students visited the campus to delve deeper into the 3 FGGA Bachelor programmes. The in-depth 'Experience Days' follow the online open days that have a more exploratory character.
Early Birds
Although the intake for September 2022 still seems a long way off, recruitment is already up and running due to the upcoming 'early bird deadlines' and online open days at the end of October. The Liberal Arts & Sciences: Global Challenges programme of the LUC is one of the Leiden programmes that applies such an 'early bird' deadline, partly due to the intensive selection procedure and visa processing. Students of the Bachelor's programmes Security Studies and Public Administration have a little longer to finalise their application and do so in spring. Besides the FGGA Bachelor's programmes, prospective students of International Studies and Urban Studies of the Faculty of Humanities were also welcome in Wijnhaven to get further acquainted with the programme.
'It is great to be able to welcome groups of students and their parents again after such a long time. Despite the measures, it was still possible to present an in-depth programme both on location and online.’
Succesful Day
On the other side of the station, at Leiden University College, the Experience Days also went smoothly. Anique van der Burg, Event Coordinator at LUC, also looks back on a successful day: ''It was exciting to finally be able to show curious prospective students LUC's campus. Also the student ambassadors who accompanied the prospective students were very enthusiastic to share their experiences with the future students.''

Collaboration
The Communication and Marketing team of the FGGA works together with the institutes and SCM to shape the recruitment for the Bachelor's and Master's programmes. It is clear that this will continue to have on-campus and online components. The next recruitment activities are planned for next spring: a new edition of The Hague Experience Day in mid February, the Master's week on Thursday 10 and Friday 11 March, and the (online) bachelor open day on Saturday 12 March 2022.
