Pre-departure meeting for staff with student projects abroad
Every year, the Field Research Education Centre of the Faculty of Archaeology organises a so-called “pre-departure meeting”. Attendance at such a meeting is mandatory once for staff members who organise fieldwork with Leiden students. The purpose of these meetings is to prevent unsafe or undesirable situations for staff, students, third parties and for archaeology itself.
During a pre-departure meeting, information is provided about practical matters relating to organising fieldwork with Leiden students, about health and safety, and about undesirable behaviour. There is also an opportunity to ask questions and share any fieldwork concerns with colleagues.
On Friday 7 November (12:00 - 14:00), a pre-departure meeting will take place in room E0.03B in the Van Steenis Building.
In addition to staff members who have never attended the meeting before, staff members who have participated previously are also welcome to attend. Registration is not required.
Teams channel
There is also a Teams channel with practical information for all fieldwork staff. It is called “Fieldwork projects with Leiden students: information for staff members”. Staff members are asked to register their fieldwork project here and can always find up-to-date information here.
