AI in education
AI is playing an increasing role in education. What is the university’s approach to the opportunities and challenges around AI?
AI can enhance the development of education. The university therefore offers a learning environment where AI may be used to support education. By taking a responsible approach, lecturers and students can use various tools to innovate both teaching and learning.
Julian van der Kraats
Coordinator
‘My aim is to get students, lecturers and researchers to work together. For example, to test theories about AI-human interaction. Or to learn how to use AI to design AI, in a "build your own bot" class.'
The link between students, lecturers and researchers is crucial, says Julian. 'As a broad-based university we already have a lot of knowledge. There are not only LIACS and our AI & Data Science programmes, but also philosophy, education studies and psychology, for instance. Students from different programmes are involved and very interested. They’re queuing up to take part.'
