Leiden Law Academy strengthens its team
With a strengthened team and a clear division of tasks, Leiden Law Academy (LLA) is giving a new boost to the organisation, its policies, and its offerings. Created for and by the faculty, LLA aims to build lasting connections with the institutes and the faculty. The management team is fully committed to this.
Management team (MT)
As of 1 May, Pascalle Boonstoppel has started as Head of Department. Having first worked on an interim basis, she now has a permanent appointment and will focus on internal processes, marketing, operations and contact with teaching staff.
In her role as Head of Department, Linda van Dun can now focus on external contacts and university policy, including Lifelong Development.
Egbert Koops will reduce his hours for LLA, but remains involved by providing strategic advice, helping with contacts within the faculty, and overseeing the disputes committee and advisory board.
On behalf of the Faculty Board, Gertjan Boshuizen and Jan Crijns are members of the MT and will supervise LLA’s business operations and course offerings respectively. Business controller Niels Verwers will provide financial advice to the MT.
Cooperation
Together, we aim to enhance collaboration across the faculty and deepen our ties with the legal profession, with a strong focus on relevance and quality. Through the combination of academic depth and practical applicability, we bridge the gap between research, teaching and legal practice.
Leiden Law Academy (LLA) is Leiden Law School’s institute for postgraduate legal continuing education. As a faculty service unit, it operates on a non‑profit basis. LLA designs and delivers high‑quality courses, programmes, conferences and events for legal professionals, ranging from lawyers and judges to corporate and public‑sector legal experts. In close collaboration with the faculty’s institutes, LLA turns academic research and expertise into education and events that respond to the needs of today’s legal practice.
