Call for Proposals: Collaborate with the University of Zurich with this funding scheme

21 May 2026

As a member of the Una Europa alliance, all Leiden University and LUMC employees are eligible to take part in proposals for the University of Zurich's Global Funding Scheme — in collaboration with colleagues from UZH.

Grants of up to CHF 60,000 (approximately €65,000) are available for joint initiatives. The three funding lines open to academic and professional services staff are:

  • Global Outreach Fund – Grants of up to CHF 5,000 aimed at increasing visibility and showcasing research strengths in addressing global challenges in international settings.
  • Global Seed Fund – Grants of up to CHF 5,000 to support early collaboration and proposal development, helping researchers start projects and secure external funding.
  • Global Champion Fund – Grants of CHF 20,000 to 60,000 for large-scale collaborations with strong institutional support, and with the potential for long-term sustainability and impact.

Applications must be submitted by a University of Zurich researcher or staff member. The deadline is 31 July 2026.
