Wanted: Participants for law & robotics studies at Leiden University

16 June 2026

The ERC-funded Safe & Sound project is currently recruiting participants for two studies on human-robot interaction and robotics governance. The studies examine how people interact with social and wearable robots, with the broader aim of generating evidence to support safer and more effective robotics regulation. The project is looking for students and employees to contribute as participants in the study.

The studies

The first study focuses on group decision-making with a social robot. Participants work in groups of three on the NASA 'Survival on the Moon' task while receiving advice from either a social robot or a human advisor. The second study focuses on wearable robotics. Participants individually wear a hip-mounted exoskeleton and complete simple walking and decision-making tasks while physiological and questionnaire data are collected.

Both studies take approximately 90 minutes and take place at the Sylvius Building, Leiden University. Participants receive €16.50 compensation.
