Showing your LU-Card at the KOG entrance
From the start of the new academic year 2026–2027, all staff and students will be asked again to show their LU-Card at the entrance to the KOG.
New students may also show the following as proof of registration at the entrance (on your phone) until Friday 2 October 2026 at the latest:
- your timetable on the Leiden University app; or
- the email from the OIC containing your tutor group number; or
- your enrolment status in Studielink (please log in before entering the KOG).
From Monday 5 October 2026, new students must also be able to show their LU-Card at the entrance. When applying for your LU-Card, please allow for a processing time of approximately two weeks. You should therefore apply for your LU-Card as soon as possible, by 18 September at the latest. We would ask staff and students here to kindly point this out to new students should the situation arise.

This measure ensures that only authorised people have access to KOG. In this way, we ensure a pleasant study and working environment for everyone. To help keep the flow of people through the entrance hall as smooth as possible, please have registration proof of LU-Card ready when you arrive at the entrance.
