Call for papers: Hosting Global Justice: The Netherlands and International Courts

On 15 April 2027, Leiden University will host the conference 'Hosting Global Justice: The Netherlands as Host State of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the International Criminal Court (ICC)' in the Hague. This event explore the Netherlands' unique role as host state of two of the world's most important courts. It brings together scholars, practitioners and activists to examine the legal, political and societal dimensions of the Hague as a centre of global justice.

The event is organised by Otto Spijkers (assistant professor of International and European law at Leiden University College) and Letizia Lo Giacco (assistant professor of Public International Law at the Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies) and supported by a KIEM grant. 

Call for papers

Scholars, practitioners, and activists across disciplines and career stages can submit papers for this event. Co-authored submissions are welcome, provided that at least one author can attend and present in person in The Hague.
