Lipsius building briefly evacuated Wednesday morning
Before the start of the first classes on Wednesday morning, 16 September, the Lipsius Building was briefly evacuated due to smoke being detected in the basement. The fire brigade inspected the building and confirmed that it is safe. The cause of the smoke incident is a fault in a motor responsible for the air supply and extraction system. As a result, Lecture Halls 0.03, 0.05 and 0.28 in Lipsius are not being supplied with fresh air and are temporarily unavailable for use. The defective part is expected to be replaced tomorrow, and the lecture halls are expected to be back in operation on Friday.
Lectures in these rooms will be relocated to available rooms wherever possible. The lecturers concerned will be informed accordingly. Affected students will be notified by their lecturer.
Lectures in all other lecture halls will continue as scheduled.
