Write for Leiden Law Blog this autumn!
The Leiden Law Blog is a platform on Leiden Law School’s website where researchers, lecturers and students contribute to current discussions on topics related to law. An opportunity to share expertise and insights with a broad public and contribute to academic debate.
A blog is a short, accessible piece of writing that can be followed by a wide audience. You share your personal views on various topics and write under your own name. Check out the Leiden Law Blog for some recent examples.
This academic year, we would like to receive blogs on various topics. The aim is to address current issues, such as AI and law, first experiences with the European Migration Pact, and the role of international courts. Below you can see which topics may be of interest and when:
October
- 6 October: Diversity Day (diversity and inclusion at work)
- 10 October: Day of Sustainability (first organised by Urgenda)
- 24 October: United Nations Day
- 29 October: Internet Day
November
- 2-8 November: Climate Week
- 10 November: World Science Day for Peace and Development (UN)
- 20 November: World Children’s Day (UN)
- 27 November: Green Friday
December
- 2 December: International Day for the Abolition of Slavery (UN)
- 9 December: International Anti-Corruption Day (UN)
- 10 December: Human Rights Day (UN)
Are you interested in these topics and would you like to submit a blog? Contact the editorial team via communicatie@law.leidenuniv.nl. If you would like to write a blog on a topic other than what we’ve suggested above, we are always open to suggestions. For instance, a blog can also be a great way to attract attention to outcomes of research projects or your PhD research. We look forward to receiving your contributions!
New feature: The Discussion
A new feature on Leiden Law Blog is 'The Discussion'. Here we put a current topic to two Leiden experts who take a different perspective on the issue. For example, the question: Should there be a minimum age for social media? Or: Is it up to the courts to make climate policy obligatory?
