Apply by 28 January 2027 to secure up to €30,000 for a new interdisciplinary collaboration. The Una Europa Seed Funding call is open to Leiden University and LUMC researchers (full, associate and assistant professors), thanks to our role as a partner in the Una Europa alliance.

This year’s call welcomes proposals contributing to the development of Una Europa's Interdisciplinary Hubs for education, research and innovation, and societal outreach across Una Europa’s six Focus Areas:

• Cultural Heritage
• Data Science and Artificial Intelligence
• Europe and the World
• Future Materials and Technologies
• One Health
• Sustainability

Project proposals that include sustainable cooperation formats, with clear potential to attract third‑party funding, are strongly encouraged.

Eight projects will be funded, with a maximum budget of € 30.000 per project.

Who can participate?

Full, associate and/or assistant professors, with university contracts can apply as the Principal Investigator. Proposals should bring together at least two academic leads, who are each affiliated to an additional Una Europa university.

In addition, the formation of interdisciplinary and diverse project teams is encouraged, including academics at different career stages, professional staff and students from Una Europa universities.
