A chance to meet like-minded researchers

Leadership in academia transcends individual disciplines. Yet despite its multifaceted nature, interdisciplinary collaboration remains a challenge. Building on the foundation laid during last year’s symposium, this second edition continues our exploration of leadership as an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary field of study.

Time Activity 12:30  Walk-in and lunch 13:00 Opening programme 13:30  Parallel sessions R1: Femke Bakker - Operational Code Analysis and Leadership Trait Analysis to create leadership profiles Leiden Leadership Centre - Enhancing Climate Transformation project in collaboration with the municipality of  The Hague 14:30 Parallel sessions round R2: Eduard Schmidt and Petra Boerlage - Leadership development in a university context Tom Buitelaar - Leadership of mission leaders in UN Peacekeeping operations Eric Vermetten - Moral leadership during times of conflict and crisis   short break - second part of the programme 15:15 Walk in and welcome 15:30 Opening second part programme*  16:00 Parallel sessions:  - Leiderschap zonder grenzen: ontdek hoe leiderschap vorm krijgt in ketens en netwerken. Tijdens deze sessie met Moniek Akerboom, promovenda bij het Leiden Leadership Centre en ontwikkelaar van de serious game Leiderschap in ketens en netwerken. Tijdens het plenaire deel lanceert Moniek officieel de game én neemt ze ons mee in de theorie achter leiderschap over organisatiegrenzen heen. Aansluitend kunnen deelnemers de game zelf ervaren in een interactieve workshop. - Joanne Murphy is a professor at Birmingham University, specialising in Inclusive Leadership.  Professor Murphy has conducted multiple research projects on leadership in the Northern Ireland peace process and the transformation of the police in Northern Ireland, which she will further develop during this session. 17:00 Concluding Speeches 17:15  Network reception  *Please note: this part of the programme will mostly be in Dutch!
