Responsible collaboration is a cornerstone of Leiden University’s commitment to research integrity and societal impact. This interactive workshop will provide research support staff with the latest updates on policies and procedures related to:

  • Knowledge Security: Understanding new guidelines and workflows to safeguard sensitive knowledge in international collaborations.
  • Collaborations with Fossil Industry: Current developments, procedures and considerations for responsible engagement.
  • Human Rights and Collaborations Policy: Updates on advise & policy development.

In addition to these updates, the session will create space for participants to share experiences and challenges from their daily work supporting researchers. We will explore questions arising from different domains such as funding advice, data stewardship, ethics review, and project management, and discuss practical pathways for addressing them.

This workshop is designed for Leiden University members of the Leiden Research Support Network.

What to expect

  • Learn about the latest updates on responsible collaboration policy development and the established procedures for knowledge security & collaborations with the fossil industry.
  • Identify potential risks and compliance requirements in collaborative research projects.
  • Formulate questions and feedback to inform ongoing policy development.

Who’s organising this event?

This event is organised by the Leiden Research Support Network. The network is for all research support professionals working at Leiden University. Within the network, research support professionals from different domains exchange knowledge and experiences, and work together to answer (complex) questions from researchers. Questions?
