On Saturday 12 September 2026, The Hague’s rooftops will open to the public for the Uit je Dak festival, coinciding with Open Monument Day. It’s a great opportunity to discover some of the city’s unique locations that are not normally open to the public.
Leiden University will also be opening the doors of its Spui Campus. Visitors can explore the new building and rooftop terrace free of charge and enjoy a varied programme for visitors of all ages.
Spui Campus
Discover how green roofs contribute to greater biodiversity in the city from the rooftop terrace of Spui Campus. On Saturday 12 September, you are welcome to visit the new building and rooftop terrace from 11:00 to 16:00. Together with Leiden University researcher Joeri Morpurgo, discover which plants and animals live here and learn how green roofs can contribute to a healthier urban environment.
TU Delft, a partner in the building, will also be taking part with the Enter the Equation exhibition on the fourth floor. Researcher Joris Timmermans will host an ongoing workshop where visitors can discover how heat stress in the city can be measured.
For younger visitors, Science Centre Delft will present the Smart Homes installation. Discover how AI and sensors can help make the homes of the future smarter and more sustainable.
Fancy a break and something tasty? The brasserie in the building will also be open for a delicious cup of coffee.
