Digital security is high on the social and administrative agenda. However, there are often occasions when things go wrong. Sometimes with serious consequences for organisations’ privacy, security and business continuity. But how do digital incidents arise? Are they usually the result of targeted attacks, human error or technical vulnerabilities?

During this introductory session, Daan Weggemans will guide you through the world of cybersecurity and digital security. Using recent examples, he will demonstrate how cyber incidents arise and what malicious actors, human error and technical vulnerabilities have to do with it. He will also dive deeper into why a broader perspective on digital security is essential, even if it is not part of your day-to-day job.

After this session, you’ll have a better understanding of the landscape of digital threats and a clearer picture of what (can) cause cyber incidents, and the challenges organisations face today.
