Comparative Indo-European Linguistics (CIEL) Seminars
The Comparative Indo-European Linguistics Seminars are held approximately once every two to three months at Leiden University. True to their name, the seminars focus mostly on Indo-European linguistic matters, and offer scholars from Leiden and abroad a platform to discuss their research and exchange ideas in a collaborative and informal atmosphere.
All those interested in Indo-European linguistics are cordially invited to attend seminars or to propose a lecture themselves. Past seminars include lectures by visiting scholars, dry-runs for conference talks and reading sessions, where texts passages written in various ancient Indo-European languages are read and discussed together with experts in the field.
Most seminars are followed by drinks, courtesy of Stichting VIET, allowing all Indo-Europeanists to meet and discuss.
If you wish to be kept up to date about future seminars, please contact the organisers via email or follow the CIEL Seminar page on Facebook.
