Football is simple. What is difficult is playing simple football.
And that is what scientist Rens Meerhoff of the Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science (LIACS) explains in the NPO Radio 1 programme Focus. He researches football tactics on the basis of position data of footballers and charts how physically and mentally fit a footballer is. He also explains why he is more of a basketball man and what he contributes to biodiversity by offering sparrows a safe nesting place.
