Entire examining committee can wear academic dress at PhD ceremonies
To emphasise that all members of the examining committee are equal, those who are not professors will also be allowed to wear academic dress from 1 January 2024. Academic dress is optional for people who are not professors and remains compulsory for those who are. Anyone who does not own a cap or gown may borrow these. Loan gowns are available in the gown room.
Academic dress code
Those wearing academic dress are expected to follow the dress code: wear a dark suit, a white shirt with a black tie, black socks and black shoes or dark clothing with a white blouse and scarf.
