Is your income protected if you're unable to work?
We consider it important that your income is well protected. That is why Leiden University in the Collective Labor Agreement (CAO) has made arrangements with Loyalis to provide a disability insurance (AOV). You can take out this insurance yourself online if you want. Temporarily with no questions asked about your health.
Why is disability insurance important?
People often think that they don’t have to worry about social security in the Netherlands and that our income is well protected in the event of disability. This is not always the case. This is because benefits provided by the government and your pension fund are temporary and insufficient in certain cases.
The Loyalis AOV fits in well with the WIA (the Labour Capacity Act for if you are unable to work because of a long-term illness or an occupational disability), our collective bargaining agreement and our pension scheme. This way, you only insure what is necessary, keeping your contribution low. More importantly; you prevent your income from dropping to welfare level, which is a realistic scenario, especially in the case of partial incapacity.
A unique offer from Loyalis: no health questions until 30 June
If you apply for the Loyalis insurance between 1 April and 30 June 2025, you won’t be asked any health questions. A unique offer, allowing you to arrange it quickly without any medical exclusions on your policy. Moreover, you will get 27% contribution discount even after the promotion.
