Future Think work group launched: working together on assessment in the age of AI
This October the Future Think work group was launched at FSW. The work group is addressing an urgent challenge that everyone in higher education is now facing: how can we design assessment in a reliable, fair and future-proof way in an era in which artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly gaining ground in education?
Sound and practical advice
The work group has been tasked with drawing up advice for the committee of education directors, examination boards and the faculty board. This committee will shortly be taking decisions on the frameworks and principles for assessment in the context of AI. The advice must offer practical guidelines for assessment practices that are scientifically sound and widely supported within the faculty and the university.
Input from practice
Future Think's approach is bottom-up. Since early October, colleagues within the institutes have been actively gathering insights, experiences and examples from education and testing practice. This input forms the basis for broadly supported and, as far as possible, evidence-based advice. Where scientific evidence is still lacking, the work group strives for consensus. The group meets weekly to bring their findings together and explore them in greater depth. The members are ambassadors within their own institutes and departments.
