More and more teachers choose to enter their test questions in Ans

11 December 2025

Do it yourself, or have it done for you? This academic year, for the first time, teachers have the option of entering their own test questions into Ans. This semester, 50 per cent of teachers chose to enter the questions themselves. The FSW Digital Testing team is happy. ‘We now have more time to improve our services and get more out of Ans.'

Monique Tromp is the team leader of the Digital Testing team. ‘Teachers can still choose to have us enter the questions for them,’ she says. ‘But if they decide to do it themselves, they have more time to prepare for the exam. The deadline for entering questions yourself is two weeks instead of four weeks before the exam. Moreover, entering your questions yourself is more efficient and less prone to errors than having the Digital Testing team copy the questions from Word.’

Saving time

Many teachers recognise the advantages, and it is expected that another 15 to 20 per cent will start entering questions themselves in the coming semester. The time savings this brings for the DT team are being put to good use. Tromp: 'We can now also focus our services on other matters, such as identifying which additional Ans features we would like to use. We want to see how we can use Ans even more intelligently and extract more data from the system – for example, for analysis to improve testing.'

Close contact

Tromp emphasises that they are still available for teachers who want to outsource entering their questions. 'We think it's important that the choice is there. Good service is our top priority, which is why we have our own comprehensive Ans manual. By maintaining close contact with teachers, we know what's going on and can provide effective help.'

The DT team is happy to help!
