Know what to do in a (medical) emergency

2 February 2026

To ensure safety in the university, it is important that everyone is familiar with the protocol for (medical) emergencies. That’s why we’d like to share this brief reminder.

In a medical emergency

  1. Call 071 527 2200: Company emergency response team (BHV) via mobile phone or MS Teams Call via laptop.
  2. Or call 112: Emergency services, via mobile phone, in the event of an internal network failure. It is okay to call both!
  3. Stay with the person until help arrives.

In the event of an evacuation

  1. Calmly leave the lecture room or workplace
  2. Follow the green signs to the emergency exit (use the stairs only; the lift is prohibited).
  3. Always follow the instructions of staff wearing safety vests.
  4. Keep your distance outside to give the emergency services room to work.
