Working and Studying Safely: Where You Can Get Support
Within our faculty community, we have noticed that colleagues and students have concerns about their safety and the visibility of personal information on the university website. Geopolitical developments and events outside our university can affect feelings of (social) safety in the workplace or study environment.
Where can you turn if you feel unsafe or have concerns?
The university offers several avenues of support for staff and students who need assistance or feel unsafe. For example, you can contact confidential advisors, HR consultants, line managers, and other specialists within the organisation. The staff website provides an overview of these options and information on how to get in touch.
Manage your own visibility
Do you want to adjust the visibility of your information on the university website, such as your contact details, telephone number, or office number? In that case, please contact the Communications & Marketing department by emailing communicatie@science.leidenuniv.nl. We are still exploring how and when staff will be able to make changes to the visibility of their personal information in BAS themselves. Further information will follow as soon as this is clear.
Staying alert and in dialogue
We believe it is important that everyone feels heard and safe, and we are happy to engage in conversations with colleagues and students who have concerns or questions. When situations arise that affect physical, social, or digital safety, we consider each case individually to determine appropriate support or measures. If you would like to have a conversation or report a concern, please first contact your line manager or HR consultant. They can assist you further.
