The Business Studies department organises seminars throughout the academic year. At these seminars, external speakers are invited to present and discuss their research and other projects related to the department’s areas of expertise (Organisational & Entrepreneurial Behaviour, Corporate Governance & Strategy and Technology & Innovation).

19 February: first seminar with Hans van Dijk

The first edition of the Business Studies Seminar (BUSS) series will take place on 19 February 2024 and the speaker will be Hans van Dijk, Associate Professor at TIAS School for Business and Society (previously at Tilburg University, School of Social & Behavioral Sciences). His research focuses on human behaviour and interactions within teams in order to support organisations with conflict resolution and promote collaboration.

Destructive dynamics within organisations

As an international speaker with experience in a wide range of settings, Hans engages and challenges his audiences through experience-based teaching methods. He recently co-authored a (Dutch-language) management book on destructive dynamics within organisations. During this seminar, Hans will delve into these dynamics from a combined scientific and practical perspective. See: van Dijk, H., & Cloudt, S. W. M. G. (2023). Destructieve dynamieken: 9 schadelijke interactiepatronen in organisaties en hoe je die kan verhelpen. Amsterdam: Boom.
