Preprints are becoming increasingly popular in research communication, and for good reason: as self-managed uploads, they allow authors to share their findings quickly and widely with the research community and the general public. As a relatively new publishing option, especially for medical research, preprints bring innovative opportunities for authors. There are also challenges, practicalities, and policies that authors should be aware of before posting their work on a preprint platform.
This workshop is designed to help authors get started with preprinting, discussing the opportunities available for preprinting as well as things to be aware of when posting and reading preprints. The session will include a presentation (~45 minutes) as well as plenty of time for questions, real examples, and discussion.
Target audience
Researchers at any stage of their career thinking of preprinting their research publications
